Sound familiar?
Your skin has been telling you something for years.
Red patches exactly where the nose pads sit. Itchy lines exactly where the temples rest. Your frame, mapped in irritation.
Fine in the morning, burning by gym time. Sweat pulls nickel and plasticizers out of frames and holds them against your skin.
Metal pads and hinges that discolor — and take your skin along for the reaction.
Coated metals wear through. Mystery acetates vary batch to batch. You keep buying hope and getting rashes.
The fix isn't a better coating. It's removing the irritants entirely. Here's how →
Why frames irritate skin
Irritation = allergen × pressure × time.
Most frame reactions come from two sources: nickel — in metal frames, plated hinges, pad arms, and temple cores; it's one of the most common contact allergies — and plasticizers or coatings in some acetates. Add sweat and hours of contact pressure, and even mild sensitivity becomes a daily rash.
iAyez removes all three variables. Allergen: the frame is a single piece of PA12 nylon — the polymer class used in medical devices — with no metal pads, no plated parts, no plasticizers; color is sintered into the material, not painted on. Pressure: printed to your face scan, weight spreads across 17 balanced contact points instead of grinding on two. Time: at ~40% lighter than acetate, there's barely anything pressing at all.

Questions, answered.
Why do my glasses make my skin red and itchy?
Usually nickel — in metal frames, plated hinges, and nose pads — or plasticizers and coatings in some acetates. Sweat makes both worse by drawing irritants out and holding them against your skin at the frame's pressure points. If reactions are severe, a dermatologist can patch-test to confirm the trigger.
What are the best glasses for a nickel allergy?
Frames with no exposed metal at all. Ours are a single piece of PA12 nylon — no metal pads, cores, or plated hinges touching skin.
Aren't acetate frames hypoallergenic?
Often, but not reliably — some acetates carry plasticizers and coatings that sensitive skin reacts to, and most still have metal cores and pad arms. PA12 has neither.
Will these help with friction irritation too, not just allergies?
Yes. Irritation is allergen × pressure × time. Printing to your scan spreads weight across 17 contact points, so no patch of skin gets ground on all day.
How do I clean them?
Warm water and mild soap. PA12 is inert and washable — no coatings to protect, nothing to wear off.
Does $295 include prescription lenses?
Yes — frame, prescription lenses with anti-glare, UV, and blue-light protection, the Perfect Fit Guarantee, and the first-year free reprint. FSA and HSA accepted. Delivered from the USA in 7–10 days.
